I got almost the same specs as far as processor/Motherboard and memory go ...
Got myself a OCZ Agility SSD though, and loving it. Loading times are non-existent :D

Are you planning to overclock as your probably 200+ watts more than you need one the PSU :D
Trying to spec a new PC for ME3 and stuff need new
MB - prob asus will need 7 ATA ports due to my silly HD set up :D
CPU - (is the i5 best value atm? been an AMD man so not sure any more)
HD - ocz agility 3 would like the 240 gig but prob a bit much
RAM - corsair 8gig min i think
GPU - ATI still best value?
any feed back would be good, want it to last 2-3 years

I'd definitely say go for a i5 2500, high performance for the price and comparible to some much pricier chips.
I always like an Asus board, the P8Z68 range are sweet atm.
8gig is optimum on RAM at the moment from what I remember, so you're probably looking in a pretty good area.
Graphics cards are really dependant on how much you want to spend, I always recommend this site for an idea on where components are ranking against each other, check the other buyers guides, they'll come in handy I reckon.

Yeah coming to the same conclusions myself after looking on the web.
Can't find any good reviews for quite CPU coolers don't plan to over-clock so prefer as quite as possible instead.

another question anyone with an SSD do you find that apps running from a normal ATA drive load faster if the system cache is on the SSD?
I ask as 120gig drive might be a bit small for me to use as a boot drive and run all my games from there and the 240gig is silly money.

SSD is nice if you got the cash but im finding the HDD i bought to speed along very well.
water cooler i got h80 comes with 2 120 fans in a push pull setup quiet enough even at top speed
cpu idle temp 16 oC 2 hrs of gaming bf3 cpu temp 30 oC never goes past that gfx card temps 35 oC system temp 35 - 40 oC
