re: My perfect expansions

This post is inspired by this:

Ok, so we now we are getting the pandas and a new continent with the next expansion, but that still leaves 2 expansions before WoW is likely to come to an end and a new mmo (WoW2 presumably) replaces it. So, here are my thoughts on what I think they should be.

1 - Shadows of Draenor
Ok, this is basically a Caverns of Time expansion where we get to discover a new time tamperer that decides that in order to destroy Azeroth they need to ensure that both Orcs and Draenei do not leave Draenor by wiping them out before they are attacked by the Burning Legion.
We would get to see Draenor in all it's glory, it would be on a comparison with the original 2 continents in vanilla. All dungeons would be a progression through defeating the time threat, who would eventually show itself to be the Old Gods, who have completely broken the shackles of the Titans.
The Alliance woul have to fight to save the Draenei, not only from the attacks of the aroused elements of Draenor but also from the Horde, who are fighting for the survival of the ancestors of their Warchief (indeed all Orcs).
We will get to see places like Auchindoun in all their glory, Shadowmoon Valley and the Black Temple before the Burning Legion and Illidan turned them to their own devices, Netherstorm before it was torn to shreds, Hellfire Peninsula when it was surrounded by water and also many new places that are mentioned in the lore of Draenor.
The conclusion to the expansion would be a raid of irony where you fight to defeat the Old Gods as they fight to stop the invasion of the Burning Legion, which would mean that the Orcs would never invade Azeroth and mean the Old Gods would have 3 less races (including the unifying effect the Orcs on the Horde and the Forsaken not being created) to fight. This fight reveals that N'Zoth is behind the invasion of the Draenor's past and leads to the next expansion...

2 - The Emerald Nightmare
N'Zoth has reclaimed the Emerald Dream and is hell-bent on a final assault on Azeroth to reclaim his world from all who stand in his way. The portals to the Emerald Dream are cracked, allowing physical entities to pass through from one side to the other. All 4 portals now become hubs for nightmare bases of operation, in effect they are outdoor raid bases, with elite troops each defending a raid boss. Meanwhile, Moonglade suffers an eruption in the depths of the Stormrage Barrow Dens. A new portal to the Emersld Dream opens up and Nightmare minions, working with the reformed Thpwilight's Hammer, lay siege to Nighthaven. The challenge for all Azeroth is to send champions through this new portal, establish a "beach head" and then press on to eventually bring down the last of the "big 3" of the Old Gods, N'Zoth.
The Emerald Dream would be all 3 main continents of Azeroth as they originally were before The War of the Ancients tore them apart, making it a huge final expansion with N'Zoth being found in the Emerald Dream version of Swamp of Sorrows (thus an Old God in every continent).

This would then leave the set up of the new WoW to be based on a new rts or a film that would deal with the final attack and defeat of Sargeras and Azeoth presuming that they can live in peace once more (well, apart from the Alliance-Horde fighting).

WoW2:
New WoW would be set 100 years later, thus giving a good reason why people need to level up again. The Horde have gained control of all Kalimdor except Hyjal and Teldrassil. Meanwhile they have been removed from all but Undercity and Quel'Thalas (which now includes the fully restored area that was known as Ghostlands). The Argent Crusade is now frustrated with the wars of the Alliance and Horde and so has become similar to the Scarlet Crusade, hostile (burst not at war) with both factions, and controls all the former Plaguelands (with Stratholme, Andorhol and Scholomance being returned to their former glory) and guards the border between Silverpine Forest (now controlled by the Worgen) and Tirisfal. They have also taken it upon themselves to control Darkshore, thus also controlling the border between the Night Elves and the Orcs. A reactive peace, albeit one enforced by the sword of Tirion's descendants, reigns.
But then the Titans return, brought back by the death cries if Sargeras, echoing through the Twisting Nether, and they are not impressed...!
